Going to the Heather

a photo story

Part 1

Five o’clock on a wet August morning and for once this beekeeper is glad of some rain. All the bees are inside keeping dry so it is easy to close them up with the foam.

All loaded up and driving carefully through the local market town. It’s still early so not many people are about. Always an anxious time.

The convoy is off the motorway now and facing a long drive inland towards the moors.

Arrived at last, over cattle grids and bumpy uphill tracks. The bees have travelled well, no escapees, but a very angry buzz coming from the hives.

Six hives unloaded, all I have to do now is to open up the hives and….RUN!
